Well it's been an interesting few days. Thursday's $Well it's been an interesting few days. Thursday's run started with my excitement that my socks and shoes matched (sort of)🤣 and then further excitement as I trotted round my local trail marvelling at the beautiful crisp day and perfect blue sky. This all came to an abrupt end when a few minutes later I found myself sprawled on the ground with my arm feeling decidedly not right, having been sent flying by a piece of broken post covered over by leaves as I made my way down a hill. So pretty much a year to the day since I fractured my hip, I found myself back in a and e receiving the news that this time I've fractured my shoulder. This truly has been a dreadful 12 months for me and my own running, and I'm incredibly thankful that I am able to watch and share in the growth of my coached runners instead. But as always I believe that we need to focus on what we can do and not what we can't, and to look forward rather than back. So the weekend was spent busy catching up with some coaches runners at parkrun, planning their training and racing with them and then at the gym working out what I could still do. Quite a bit of leg work still possible, together with whacking the treadmill up to full incline and hiking. So that's what I'll be a lot of over the coming weeks. I'll be back😊, and hopefully the knowledge and experience I gain through this latest setback will carry over onto my coaching too.
