I have now been working Martha for several months, so feel I’m in a position to give an honest opinion of the coaching service. Having never met Martha prior to working together, I was recommended her by a well respected member of the running community. Having spoken to several coaches, I opted to work with Martha as from the ‘get go’ her professional and thorough approach to truly get to know me, my abilities, goals and lifestyle was exceptional. Martha has then continued to programme my training exactly as discussed where I have never had to remind her of previous conversations etc. I have been able to put full trust in the process and have seen unprecedented growth due to the quick relationship that has been developed. Also, the community that is around Martha is brilliant. Having access to a small group of like minded individuals has been brilliant, but it has also shown me that my programming is actually specific to me and there is zero ‘cookie cutter’ programming which is often the case. Finally, there is a genuine pleasure for Martha in her seeing us, her clients progress and do well. This is not always the case. Personally, I feel this has been the best investment in my running progress and would opt for this over an extra gadget or pair of shoes every day of the week. I look forward to continuing this process together and seeing where my ceiling actually is.

I thought I knew everything, most runners do. Reading about Martha through Greener Miles Running and getting in touch with her is probably one of the best training decisions I ever made. £250 trainers. £400 running jackets. Don’t bother, for much less outlay I feel much better prepared for events and recover quicker afterwards.

I started with Martha a number of months ago and it was the best decision I have made to progress myself whilst running. I am training for a half marathon and I have progressed rapidly whilst working along side using her training plans that are specified for me. The way she sets out her training plans is really simple to follow and it links up to my Apple Watch to make it even easier to follow when I am out running. I have really enjoyed working with Martha and I would recommend her to anyone that is thinking about getting someone to help them training!

Personal, tailored coaching programme, based on running goals of everything from short to long (and ultra) distances. Heart rate and running pace zones are tweaked according to the individual, and modified as progress is made. Strength and conditioning sessions are an integral part of the programme, too, with video advice available for all elements. Several coached runners have achieved PB times in the few months that this reviewer has been following their own programme. As with many fitness communities, social media groups exist for coached runners to ask questions, share experiences and ideas. Although this reviewer initially signed up for a 5-month programme, based on a particular running event, the intention is now to continue with the coaching on a permanent basis.

I have been with Martha now for 4 months and have had the most positive experience. The quality of my training has increased tenfold and I have re discovered my love for training, that mainly involved just going out to run 3 times a week; same speed, same routes. Martha offers a very individual approach that works around my family and work commitments. She’s always there to switch things up or down and is a constant source of positivity. I don’t tend to ask much from Martha in terms of phone contact but she checks in with me regularly and I can always arrange a call/catch up if I need. She always responds to texts really quickly and she’s super competitively priced. I’m feeling much more positive and much braver now taking on my 100km goal in July. Thank you!

I joined Martha after struggling to get back on my feet running due to injury! With a ballot place for the London Marathon I knew the only way to achieve this goal was to join Martha after recommendation and I never looked back! I ran the Marathon with a P/B🙌 The program she set me I found great and easy to follow, I also learned a lot a more about running other than just putting your trainers on and running!

I’ve been working with Martha for around 9 months now. During that time, Martha has coached and nurtured me through several events, from parkrun to backyard ultras. I’ve equalled my parkrun PB and knocked 5 minutes off my half-marathon PB without either of these goals being a primary focus. But Martha makes sure that no goal is forgotten. Her attention to detail is fantastic, picking out areas for praise and providing encouragement where and when it’s needed, all the while making minor adjustments to your training plan to accommodate busy lives, injuries, and running goals. It’s an absolute pleasure to have her in my corner helping me with everything to do with my running, from form and strength sessions, to race plans and nutrition, and rest and recovery. The biggest compliment I could give her is that she fills every one of her runners with confidence to be the best they can be, and I trust her completely with my training, and will continue to do so.

Whilst I have only been coached by Martha for a couple of months, I have already seen real progress and benefited from her expertise. She had brought consistency, structure and confidence back into my running, whilst the TrainingPeaks platform ensures accountability for each run as well as the Strength and Conditioning sessions. Martha is both supportive and empathetic, understanding work and home commitments and balancing my program accordingly. She is readily available via WhatsApp to offer advice on everything running related including nutrition, race suggestions and kit, and always feedbacks after each session. Additionally she has created a wonderful community amongst her athletes – acting as virtual cheerleaders and offering additional support and guidance. I couldn’t be happier with my coach.

I have known Martha for about 5 years and during that time I have seen her progress from a general club runner to an ultra specialist. She has competed in many and varied long distance events and always returns from them with a wealth of personal learning. She still coaches at her local running club, mainly on the track. She is committed to green ethics in her personal lifestyle and advocates races which have the least impact on the environment. I think her decision to become a full time coach is a very wise one. She has a lot to give both in practical experience and personal warmth. Her current runners have very varied abilities and are spread across all running disciplines, some wanting faster 5k, 10k and half marathon times, others looking at the longer more challenging races. Her coaching programmes are individually tailored but not rigorously enforced. She is very aware that the plan she sets an athlete is only a plan and that things may change which could mean alterations or even cancellations depending upon the runners circumstance or fitness on any particular day. It is great to see the achievements from some of the people she coaches and I know they are happy to be working with her.

I have been training with Martha since the beginning of April and i can honestly say that within the first week of my trial, I knew I wasn’t going to stop. Not only does Martha have superior knowledge on all things running, building up strength, & conditioning your body but she also has this innate quality that makes you feel like you are a priority. Her kindness and supportive nature are additional qualities that set Martha apart. It makes such a difference, it always feels like I have someone routing for me every time I go for a run regardless of whether it is good or bad. I worked with Martha to overcome a long standing injury and achieve a 10k PB. Martha provides clear communication and feedback, targeted activities and a structured but flexible plan. Martha helped me take 2 minutes off my 10k time, and I am able to consistently run without pain.
